Twice a year, Visible gathers a group of talented volunteer designers and thinkers together for a day to make an impact for an organization in need of immediate creative services.
What is a Design Equity Tournament?
Design Equity Tournaments provide an opportunity to engage in direct action through design.
Participants work individually or in teams over the course of 4 hours to develop a logo and one-page style guide including supporting typographic styles, color palette, and brand elements.
At Visible, we believe that a professionally designed logo and website are basic needs for an organization. Design Equity Tournaments were created to serve organizations with an urgent and immediate need for a professionally designed logo.
Just as relief workers spring into action in dire circumstances to make sure everyone is safe, warm, and sheltered, a DET works similarly: a group of volunteer designers rallies together for a day to make sure an organization has their basic creative services needs met, and fast.
At the end of a Design Equity Tournament, a non-profit organization receives the work created that day, which they can either put into immediate action, or use as a starting point to empower their organization. After the tournament, Visible HQ connects the organization with volunteer creative services through a Visible quarterly project drive to engage in more comprehensive creative processes as needed.
