Bio: Laura Gleim is a communications professional with specialties in writing, editing, video production, storytelling, and project management. Born and raised among the rivers and mountains of Idaho, she is an avid outdoor enthusiast and traveler who is continuously inspired by the immense beauty and kindness found in people and places all over the world. She has traveled through more than 15 countries, studied Latin American history in New Mexico, and taught English to Spanish speaking children in Argentina. Her proudest moment in the weeks following the 2016 election was when the mayor of her hometown, Boise, Idaho, invited a family of “new Americans”—recently relocated Muslim Syrian refugees—to join him and his daughter on stage at the annual holiday tree lighting ceremony in a symbolic act of warmth and support. Laura currently lives in Portland, Oregon, where she works as communications manager at PSU’s Institute for Sustainable Solutions to broadcast the stories of students and professors who work alongside our community to make the world a better place.
