Bio: For over 20 years Eleazar has consistently developed award-winning work for both national and international clients in the retail, utility, financial, higher education, healthcare, development, medical, fitness and construction industries. Since moving to San Antonio, Eleazar has led several creative teams in addition to spearheading his own creative shops, Hernandez Design Studio and Jugar. His approach to work and design reflects his emphasis on simplicity, concept and intelligence. The combination of Eleazar’s unique ability to synthesize complex issues and represent them in new, interesting and audience-targeted ways has contributed to effective communication strategies and tools for clients such as: Anne Klein, Steven Kretchmer, New York State Museum, Planned Parenthood, Kaiser Family Foundation, Univision, the San Antonio Spurs, the Dallas Cowboys, CPS Energy, SAWS, TxDOT, Papa John’s and the University of Texas at San Antonio to name a few.
Hernández has received numerous awards from most major design and advertising publications in the United States and Europe. He was named one of the Nation’s Top 30 Designers to Watch by Graphic Design: USA magazine. A national honor awarded to designers who display a rare combination of talent, leadership, success, insight, business savvy, community service and newsworthiness.
Hernández earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from New Mexico State University, a Masters Degree in Art History from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and pursued a PhD in Anthropology also from UTSA.
He has lectured extensively to student and professional groups on the business of design and his own creative process. He has also judged numerous design and advertising competitions on the local, regional and national levels. Hernández recently authored a book titled How to Lead Creative Teams for APress Publishing in New York City.
