Visible was founded the day after the 2016 presidential election.
As creative industry professionals, we knew that the most effective way we could support organizations serving immigrants, refugees, LGBTQ+, and underrepresented communities and causes would be by donating our skills and services directly to them.
The market value of our services is far greater than what most of our members are typically able to donate in monetary form.
Within the creative industry, there are many obstacles to finding and successfully engaging in pro-bono work.
We wondered, why, in an industry defined by its dedication to communication and problem-solving, do we have so few solutions for effectively providing “design for good”?
In response, we founded Visible.
Over 400 Individual Members and 46 StudioPartners have taken the Visible pledge to provide at least one pro-bono project per year as a component of professional practice.
Our members donated creative services with a value of over $120K to organizations serving immigrants, refugees, LGBTQ+, and underrepresented communities and causes. Our 2017 donated work served:
Maxville Heritage Interpretive Center
Visible was founded upon an ethos of resistance. Now, we’re moving forward with the collaborative energy of alliance, and a mission to increase equitable access to the work of the creative industry.
Visible is a 501(c)(3) organization. Your donation is tax deductible.
